Franklin Flood Pics

The Flood…Don’ Sit Still

The events of the past few days have been more than an eye opener to many of us.  For two days we watched the rain come down and watched the creeks and rivers rise.  We’ve watched people evacuate their homes and businesses by wading through waste deep water or by taking a boat ride to safety.  We’ve seen heroic rescues on TV.  There’s been numerous Tweets and Facebook posts that have connected us all with what is going on in our community.

We’ve not only seen the surreal situation but have felt it as well.

What do we do now?

Don’t sit still.  Don’t be idle.  Don’t watch as others do.  Don’t say, “Someone else will take care of that.”  Don’t not make a difference.

If you’re wanting to be the hands and feet of Christ then walk down the street and help a neighbor, a stranger, a business, a shelter, a person in need, a friend that is hurting, a relative that has lost something because of this disaster.  If you need some ideas on how to get involved then check out these websites:
