Holy Week
As I sit here in the office at Rolling Hills I can’t help but to sit back and watch all the activity that is taking place. This is certainly a big weekend in the life of our church, well, THE CHURCH in general. This weekend is not only a weekend to remember, but it is a weekend to reflect and look forward. We remember the life, death, and resurrection of Christ, reflect on the journey that lead us to our own experience with Christ, and look forward to living a life in communion with God.
Easter weekend is always busy, especially with family, friends, egg hunts, and travel. Just remember one thing, all of those things are important , but pale in comparison of the life journey of Jesus. We can easily miss the meaning of Easter because we are busy trying to do Easter, if that makes since.
At Rolling Hills we have ways you can focus your time and attention. You can attend…
Maundy Thursday – Seder Experience: 6:30-7:30pm
Good Friday – “Via Crucis” or “Way to the Cross”: 6-8pm, this experience will take an hour
Saturday – Eggstravaganza: 10am-12pm, there will be a teaching for children
Sunday – Easter Services: 9:30am & 11pm
Come to one or to all. The purpose of each event is to focus our time and attention on Jesus’ life, death, burial, and resurrection.
Remember, this couldn’t be a better time to step out of your comfort zone and invite someone to an Easter service. People will be more receptive due to the time of the year. If you are sitting in your office, classroom, doctor’s office, etc. and you think it could be a good opportunity, don’t hesitate, go for it.
